6 Dec 2008 - CHRISTMAS CRAFTS AT BURLEIGH HOUSE STAMFORD LINCS We couldnt help feel some Christmas spirit as we walked around the courtyard of this beautiful Elizabethan House..listening to the Carol singing and tasting the Christmas fayre. Burleigh House is one of the largest and grandest houses of the Elizabethan age built between 1555 and 1587...The Christmas craft fair was held in a large marquee in the grounds with the food market being held in the courtyard. Gadabouts having fun attracted the usual attention and after our shopping we met by the grand piano for a snack and a little light refreshment....and very nice it was too..It was a sunny but cold day but that didnt deter us from enjoying another really lovely day out together..we hope to go back in the summer to visit the Gardens of Surprise and the house. Merry Christmas everybody !!
